Billy Joel’s daughter Alexa made a phone call to emergency services telling them, ‘Took pills. Want to die,’ according to US reports.

Musician Alexa, the daughter of Joel and Christie Brinkley, called 911 on Saturday after allegedly swallowing eight Traumeel tablets.

The homeopathic painkiller tablets are reportedly not capable of causing an overdose.

The drama unfolded when Alexa, reportedly distraught over the end of a romance, took the pills and panicked, according to the New York Post.

Emergency medical teams received a message from dispatchers, which read: “Female caller. Took eight pills. Wants to die. Now feels funny. Wants to live.”

Joel, 23, was taken to Manhattan’s St Vincent’s Hospital where she spent Saturday night before being released.

“It was more like a cry for help,” a source told the Post.

Friends of Joel say she was upset from her break-up with musician boyfriend Jimmy Riot.
